Submission Guidelines

We are interested in collaborative efforts with creators of all kinds. When we say collaborations, we're also talking about financial collaboration. What does that mean? It means that if you believe in your work we expect you to put your money where your belief is just as we will if you can get us to believe in your work. Does this make us a 'vanity press?' No, because a vanity press will take your money to defray all the printing and production costs and will do virtually nothing to promote your work. We will. If we decide to collaborate with you, it's because we've decided we believe in you as a creator and we believe in the work you've created. And we will collaborate with you to promote your work and get it - and you - in front of as many people as possible.

If you wish to submit a proposal to Bag End Press, please include:

  • A cover letter detailing the work as a whole-including any and all information that you think we should have in order to make a decision about your project. In particular, be sure to tell us who your target audience is, and why.
  • A chapter-by-chapter outline of the entire work.
  • One or two sample chapters—whatever you consider to be enough material to give us a sense of the work as a whole. It is not necessary to send the entire manuscript.
  • A brief bio or a note describing who you are and why you are the right person to write this book. Needn't be a formal resume.
  • A self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage for the return of all of your material. Without this, we cannot return your materials to you.
  • Do NOT send originals of anything. We are not liable for artwork or manuscript submissions.
